Welcome

Hello there, my name is Cheng

and you may know me from my instagram chengisalwaysclimbing. As my handle suggest I am pretty much always climbing and have been doing so for about five years now (as of today’s date of 11/24). While it may seem silly to some, the sheer act of discovering the slight nuance sequence up a rock wall or plastic wall is so tantalizing for the brain to consume. And since we must ascend the wall using our bodies, the act is also a physical endeavor that serves as an excellent form of exercise for the human body.

In all honesty, everything I do is for the end goal of climbing whenever, wherever and however much I want. But a very important part of doing so has to do with maintaining a strong and healthy body.

Stretching

Ah, one of the most boring, mundane, and painful things an individual can subject themselves to. Yet for me, stretching was vital for maintaining a strong and healthy body that listens to my demands.

And believe it or not, I wasn’t always flexible. It took countless hours of hard work and effort to get to where I am today. Some might think I enjoy it—but not really. I simply enjoy what it does for me.

Too often, I’ve seen people my age (27) or younger with bodies that can barely bend—hindered by injuries left neglected for too long. Bodies that have grown lazy, even though the answer—stretching—is blatantly obvious.

I’m not saying that stretching is the end-all, be-all. It’s simply a tool I’ve used to maintain and fine-tune my body, helping me feel more alive and capable than most.

And that’s all there is to really know about me. I guess you can say I have a few secrets, including dark ones but who doesn’t have a few skeletons in the closet and a skeleton under their skin.

But ONE secret that I will not keep form you is “how to become flexible.”
